Mike Wilson joined the SIA in September 2007. He was educated at the Duke of York's School Niarobi, Mons Officer Cadet School, Royal School of Military Engineering and University College London. He has extensive experience working with agencies and non-departmental public bodies, including the Military Survey Defence Agency, the Joint Air Reconnaissance and Intelligence Centre, the Defence Intelligence and Security Centre, the Defence Vetting Agency, and the Gangmasters Licensing Authority. He also fulfilled a long military career with appointments in the United Kingdom, Germany, United States and Africa.

Married with three children, Mike's recreational interests include working dogs, shooting, climbing, fishing, golf and deer management.
