Our first stakeholder conference launched our refreshed Stakeholder Engagement Strategy (download size: 166kb). The event opened with a keynote speech from SIA Chair Ruth Henig (download size: 106kb).
'Security Talks', 16 May 2008, Leeds
Our second stakeholder conference opened with keynote speeches from SIA Chair Ruth Henig (download size: 58kb) and CEO Mike Wilson (download size: 58kb). The event covered two main themes:
- Review and interpretation of the application of the Private Security Industry Act 2001
- Improving licence integration - a proposal
- Feasibility and benefits of a compulsory registration of companies.
- Should in-house security be licensed - the case for and against.
- Raising quality and standards in the private security industry
- Training, qualifications and licensing requirements: ensuring high standards for the industry.
- Discussion about the influences that affect strategic buying decisions and what actions can be taken to increase the proportion of customers specifying ACS in the procurement of security.
- Compliance and enforcement.
The programme included seminars covering a range of topics, led by industry/stakeholder representatives and facilitated by us. The presentations used by the speakers on the day are available below.
