26 July 2007: Yesterday, on the 25 July at the City of Westminster Magistrates Court, Sabrewatch plc appeared to answer 44 summonses relating to Section 5 of the Private Security Industry Act 2001.
Under this section, it is an offence to provide security services to another by means of the activities of an unlicensed security operative engaging in licensable conduct.
No plea was entered and the case was adjourned until 8 August 2007.

- Since 20 March 2006 SIA licences have been legally required for manned guarding personnel (supplied under contract). For those working in relation to licensed premises, SIA licences have been required since 11 April 2005.
