Change to ID Document Requirements

13 August 2007: From 1 October 2007, the identity documents that the Security Industry Authority (SIA) can accept will change. This follows widespread concern about identity fraud and will also streamline the licence application process.

From 1 October, the SIA will only accept:

• Two identity documents from the revised group A list. At least one document must show the applicant's current address and at least one document must show the applicant's date of birth.
  Or
  
• One identity document from the revised group A list and 2 documents from the revised group B list. At least one document must the applicant's current address and at least one document must show the applicant's date of birth.

From this date, identity documents will be returned by the SIA to applicants by courier free of charge.
