28 September 2007: The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is looking to attract two high calibre individuals to represent the interests of Scotland and the private security industry on its Board. The successful candidates will bring their experience and professional expertise, which will enhance the Board's specialised knowledge and credibility with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
Details will be advertised by the Home Office from Sunday 30 September onwards in some national, regional and security trade press. It is anticipated that the new Board members will start their posts in early 2008. Appointments are expected to last three years.
Ruth Henig, Chairman of the SIA said:
"I'm very pleased we can look forward to two additional Board members to represent the particular interests of Scotland and the private security industry.
The SIA plays a central role in enhancing public protection through the regulation of the private security industry; our new Board members will be able to make an important contribution to this work and to the future development of the industry throughout Great Britain."
