| Passport Accreditation
The Passport route will use schemes accredited by us as being equivalent to the ACS Standard. No Passport schemes have been accredited as yet. We invite applications from any organisation wishing to operate such a scheme.
Submitting Your Proposal
- Register your interest.
- Provide an outline of your proposed scheme including:
- Scope: sectors and types of organisations to cover
- Process: how an organisation gains certification to your scheme
- Competence: the assessors you will use and how they will be trained
- Standards: the assessment criteria and standards you will use including how each of the 89 indicators in the ACS Self Assessment Workbook is covered
- Give your reasons for proposing your scheme and describe how it will contribute to the overall aim of the ACS (to protect the public and maintain and improve standards in the private security industry).
- Provide confirmation of UKAS accreditation for your scheme, or your ability to obtain UKAS accreditation if required.
What We Will Do
- Provide additional details and guidance when you register your interest.
- On receipt of your proposal, work with you to progress your application as quickly as possible e.g.
- Confirm whether your scheme covers the ACS Standard (download size: 86kb)
- Review your assessor capability including assessor training and on-site performance
- If you are accredited, include details of your scheme on this website.
- Participate in your QA process: e.g. conduct witnessed assessment, attend assessor training, hold review meetings.
We may review this accreditation process in the future to see if it should be carried out by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). |
