What Will We Do?

We ensure compliance with the legal requirements of the Private Security Industry Act 2001 and conformance with the ACS Terms and Conditions of Approval through an intelligence-led approach. We analyse the information we receive to spot trends of non-compliance or non-conformance; by doing so we can prioritise and target our enforcement activity. The information you give us will help us to do this.

We have a range of formal enforcement actions at our disposal, from verbal or written warnings and improvement notices to prosecution. Which one we use will depend on the severity of the case, the number of reported incidents and any previous action that has been taken against that individual or company. If the company is an Approved Contractor there are additional measures we can take, such as removal or reduction of the company's Licence Dispensation Notice authorisation, or withdrawal of their Approved Contractor status.

Reports of training or qualifications malpractice will be forwarded onto the relevant awarding body or the qualification regulatory authorities, as the SIA does not regulate this area. Information will be handled as per awarding body and/ or qualification regulatory authorities guidelines, and they will contact you directly if more information is required. We do monitor malpractice issues as part of our awarding body endorsement process.

Please note that we are unable to pursue cases on behalf of specific individuals

Feedback on the Information You Provide
