ESTONIA
Extracts from the Punishment Register are issued by the Estonian Police Board on behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Extracts will be in Estonian if a criminal offence is on record, but in English if the individual is not registered in the Punishment Register. Translations from Estonian, and the original certificate in Estonian, can be verified by the Ministry of Internal Affairs on request if the applicant states that the information is required for an employer or regulatory body abroad.
Applicants within Estonia can request their personal extract from the Punishment Register by going in person to the Estonian Police Board, presenting their ID document, and filling in the application form. For a foreign citizen the date and place of birth and the name and type of the identity document should be used instead of the personal identification code.
Applications may also be sent by post, adding a signed copy of the passport. Application forms may be obtained from the Police Board web page at www.pol.ee. The application form and information about opening hours for in-person visits are all available at the web site which is in Estonian.
