Transport Security (Aviation)

An exemption from SIA licensing has been granted to security staff regulated by Transport Security (Aviation). Transport Security (TranSec) is the part of the Department for Transport that is responsible for developing and monitoring security regimes in the transport sector.

The exemption does not include contracted staff undertaking security duties at air cargo, in-flight catering, maritime ports or the Channel Tunnel.
