When you send us your licence application form you will also need to send supporting documentation. All documents will be returned to you but please don't send anything you might need in the near future.
You will need to send:
- A photograph of yourself that has been counter-signed by a suitable person;
- Documents confirming your identity and age. All documents should be in your current name (unless accompanied by a deed poll document that confirms a change of name or valid adoption certificate), at least one document must show your current address and at least one must show your date of birth.
Overseas Criminal Record Checks
If you live overseas (which includes Northern Ireland) or you have spent six continuous months or more outside Great Britain, you must provide evidence of a criminal record check from the relevant country or countries. The checks need to cover the five years prior to your application.

Obtaining a Translation
We will need the originals of any documentation sent to us. Where these are not in English, they must be translated into English by an accepted translation body.
