We set our competency criteria in consultation with the private security industry, professional associations, training providers, awarding bodies and other stakeholders such as Skills for Security. We have developed a core competency specification for private investigations, which will be published in June.

The SIA does not run training courses or give qualifications or provide funding. We endorse awarding bodies who offer the qualifications linked to SIA licensing and approve training providers. We have endorsed EDI to offer qualifications linked to Private Investigation licensing.
