Reporting Lost, Stolen or Damaged Licences

Licence holders must tell the SIA if their licence is lost or has been stolen. They should also let us know if their licence has been damaged and they need a replacement.

  • If their licence has been lost they should write to us, explaining the circumstances of the loss.
  • If their licence has been stolen they should report the theft to the police, obtain a crime reference number from them and forward the police report to us with a covering letter.
  • If their licence has been damaged they should return the licence to us with a covering letter.

The address to write to is:

Security Industry Authority
PO Box 1293
Liverpool
L69 1AX.

We do not normally charge for replacing a licence; however, if we receive repeated requests for replacement licences we may investigate further and/or demand a fee.
