At the moment local authorities and some police force issue local licences, badges and operate registration schemes. This section describes how the change from local schemes to the national SIA licence will work. Also here, are the dates that licensing will start.

It will be the law to have an SIA licence. This section explains how we will ensure that people have a licence.

The SIA will use its close relationship with the Home Office to influence and achieve further legislative changes if necessary. For example adding a clause in the current bill on liquor and public entertainment licensing, making it a requirement of the licensee to only engage licensed door supervisors.
