The following awarding bodies have expressed an interest in offering the new security guarding qualification for licensing. These are:

City and Guilds

Edexcel

NCFE

NOCN

These awarding bodies currently offer some of the exemption awards for the proposed Part 1of the new qualification.

People wishing to attend training courses leading to a SIA recognised qualification should contact one of the SIA endorsed awarding bodies who will be able to provide names of training organisations offering the course.

The new qualification is expected to be available from Autumn 2004.
