Welcome to the SIA

by SIA Site Admin // October 25

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) today joined partners; The British Security Industry Association (BSIA), Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO) and Jobcentre Plus, to launch an initiative to promote careers in the Security Industry.

Security partners came together at the security trade exhibition –  IFSEC 2004 – on the 11th May, held at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, to launch ‘Why Security?’, a booklet aimed at promoting careers in the security industry.

The SIA has been working with the private security industry to transform the industry, to raise levels of professionalism and skills, and to set high standards for entry into positions of trust. A career in the security industry can increasingly be seen as a career of choice and opportunity.

Helping launch the Why Security? booklet Steve Sidaway, Director of Communications for the SIA said:

“ For the SIA this small leaflet represents an essential brick in building, with partners like the BSIA, a better skilled and more professional security industry.”

Why Security? Will be distributed to all Jobcentres in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as at jobs fairs and industry events.

A downloadable copy of the booklet can be found on our publications site here:
